In this post i am going to be creating character profiles for each of my participants in my media product. This will help me identify what makes them suitable and unsuitable to use when creating my media product.
Media Theory Research In this post i am going to be researching media theories and how these theories have been used in the two media products that i select for this task. I am also going to research why and how they appeal to the target audience and why these theories have been used in these media products. Therefore, i can apply these theories when constructing my media product and explain my reasons for using them in the future. MAIN TASK 4 Theories Female Gaze- is used to refer to the perspective a female filmmaker (screenwriter/director/producer) that brings to a film that would be different from a male view of the subject. This appeals to females the same way as the male gaze. I am going to apply this to my media product by using a male in my main image that will appeal to the female target audience. Postmodernism- is the idea that society has moved beyond modernism and that we are exposed to media so much that reality and media has blurre...
NEA Research Part 2- Genre Research In this post i am going to be conducting research into the magazine genre i chose in the brief. The reason i am doing this is to learn the different codes and conventions i need when creating my Entertainment Magazine. The genre of the text as described in my chosen brief is an entertainment magazine and I'll be looking at the conventions of 3 media products that of the same genre. ----------------- MAIN TASK To conclude, I found that entertainment magazines follow similar conventions as each other. For example, the mast head is alway placed on the centre of the page in bold in order to stand out. However, Entertainment Weekly place the image infront of the mast head but they have used this convention from the start of production and it has become one of the ways to identify their magazines. In addition, the person in the main image are always staring directly at the camera and this was evident in all three of th...
Producers Research In this post i am going to be carrying out research on a range of media practitioners that link to my chosen brief (magazine). I need to compare the similarity and differences between the magazines that have been created by each company. I believe that by understanding the photographers who link to magazine front covers and pictures, will enable me to produce a media text that follows and reflects their style more effectively. MAIN TASK To conclude, i will incorporate the techniques on the front colour of my magazine which have been used by my chosen photographers. I will be using high contrast black and white and also high contrast bright colours as they are significant techniques that i have found and researched. This will enable me to produce a media text that follows my chosen photographers technique and styles more effectively because i have researched and created a powerpoint on my findings.
A good post... but please include more suitable images of the people you intend to use in front of the camera... no LS.
