NEA Research Part 2- Genre Research
NEA Research Part 2- Genre Research
In this post i am going to be conducting research into the magazine genre i chose in the brief. The reason i am doing this is to learn the different codes and conventions i need when creating my Entertainment Magazine. The genre of the text as described in my chosen brief is an entertainment magazine and I'll be looking at the conventions of 3 media products that of the same genre.
-----------------
MAIN TASK

To conclude, I found that entertainment magazines follow similar conventions as each other. For example, the mast head is alway placed on the centre of the page in bold in order to stand out. However, Entertainment Weekly place the image infront of the mast head but they have used this convention from the start of production and it has become one of the ways to identify their magazines. In addition, the person in the main image are always staring directly at the camera and this was evident in all three of the magazine covers i found, also the main image always included a celebrity in order to appeal to the magazines intended audience.
