NEA Research Part 4 Media Language And Representation
Media Language And Representation
In this post i am going to be researching entertainment magazines and finding out how media language elements are used to create meaning and construct representation that address and appeal to the intended audience. I will be doing this by analysing Magazine layout, typography, use of language and use of images. Also i need to research an website for a magazine company and research the online conventions.
MAIN TASK

To conclude, i found that most magazines use the same media language to represent artists in similar ways as each other in order to match the audiences opinion on what genre and conventions they expect to find on a magazine front cover. These include, the main image, which is usually centred in the middle, the mast head, Usually in bold front at the top of the page in the centre and cover lines, usually located on the left or right side of the page. Overall, i found that magazines use similar conventions on their magazine front cover.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY WEBSITE

To conclude, I found that magazine websites should be easy to navigate with a simple layout to make the website easier to access and use for viewers. I found out that navigation is key for the website because if it is to hard to navigate readers will lose interest with the website and wont subscribe. In addition, i found out that text and language is important in order to have a short summary or some information about the pages the audience can view. This saves the readers time as they don't have to read the whole page they can just read the summary to see if they will enjoy the page.
