LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • K: The requirements for each of the briefs set by OCR.
  • U: How to approach the chosen brief, including writing the statement of intent.
  • BAT: Choose a brief and start planning what to write in the statement of intent.
  • CO: Use media terminology (all areas of the theoretical framework) in your written and verbal communication.

I have chosen to pick brief 3 for my coursework. I have always had an interest in photoshop and i want to design the front covers and contents pages of magazines. I have already used photoshop to complete GCSE coursework for media, which has helped develop my photoshopping skills (designing and editing). I would like to develop my creativity skills as for me to choose and create original magazines is out of my comfort zone. I also want to develop my photography skills as it is something i may be interested in the future. However, i am hoping the research i complete and the photoshopping skills i have will help me to create a professional magazine for my coursework.

I found out that my target audience would expect and want my magazine to be based on film and celebrities. This will help me identify what i should include in my magazine and what my will appeal to my target audience. NEA Research Part 7 Producers/ Directors Research

Producers Research In this post i am going to be carrying out research on a range of media practitioners that link to my chosen brief (magazine). I need to compare the similarity and differences between the magazines that have been created by each company.  I believe that by understanding the photographers who link to magazine front covers and pictures, will enable me to produce a media text that follows and reflects their style more effectively. MAIN TASK To conclude, i will incorporate the techniques on the front colour of my magazine which have been used by my chosen photographers. I will be using high contrast black and white and also high contrast bright colours as they are significant techniques that i have found and researched. This will enable me to produce a media text that follows my chosen photographers technique and styles more effectively because i have researched and created a powerpoint on my findings.
